My Why

My Story by Big Daddy Weave

If I told you my story

You would hear Hope that wouldn't let go

And if I told you my story

You would hear Love that never gave up

And if I told you my story

You would hear Life, but it wasn't mine

If I should speak then let it be

Of the grace that is greater than all my sin

Of when justice was served and where mercy wins

Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in

Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

If I told you my story

You would hear victory over the enemy

And if I told you my story

You would hear freedom that was won for me

And if I told you my story

You would hear Life overcome the grave

If I should speak then let it be

Of the grace that is greater than all my sin

Of when justice was served and where mercy wins

Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in

Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

This is my story, this is my song

Praising my savior all the day long

This is my story, this is my song

Praising my savior all the day long

For the grace that is greater than all my sin

Of when justice was served and where mercy wins

Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in

Oh to tell you my story is to tell

Of the grace that is greater than all my sin

Of when justice was served and where mercy wins

Of the kindness of Jesus that draws me in

Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

Oh to tell you my story is to tell of Him

This is my story, this is my song

Praising my Savior all the day long

My dear friends, I tell you this story to tell you of Him!

It has been a very long two years. As many of you know, my youngest grandson passed away just over two years ago. No, he was not ill. There was no accident. There was no horror. There was nothing. Only nothing. After a through autopsy, nothing. Enter in the term "S. U. D. C." Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood. Nothing. Zero explanation of how one minute we have a beautiful active 4 year old and the next a sickly, dying child. This all took place over the period of 5 hours. He was here and then, Nothing.

And it's been a road of recovery for everyone left behind. A painful journey that we will walk for the rest of our God given days. But I'm ok with this. You see, His strength is made perfect in my weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:8-10 (NKJV)

8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

This doesn't mean he is not missed. I miss this child terribly. I would love to stand on this side of tragedy and say I'm fine. But, I'm not, but it's ok. You see, our God does not promise us an easy life.

John 16:33 (NIV)

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

I know there will come a time when I will be reunited with my grandson in heaven. I rejoice that he is with the Lord, and if I'm really honest, I'm probably a bit envious too! What a beautiful thought, my sweet boy in the arms of Jesus!

Matthew 19:14 (TLB)

14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and don’t prevent them. For of such is the Kingdom of Heaven.”

Which brings me to my why, my mission, my passion, my love. I love to write. I love to create, I love to use the talent God has given me, however small and humble, for His glory. Even though I hurt so deeply; our God is a God of mercy and compassion. His peace continually rains down on me. And I will praise him forevermore.

Hebrews 13:20-21 (KJV)

20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

When you see my artwork, you will see a mix of everything, as I said, I love to create. I hope you are inspired to have fun and explore the creativity that God has given to each and every one of us.

Romans 12:3-8 (NIV)

Humble Service in the Body of Christ

3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

With Love in Christ,

Jennifer
