Sermon Journal

Hello Everyone!  After taking some time, a LONG time, to pinpoint what  I want to be when I grow up, I've decided to go back to writing. Of course, I love crafting so I am going to combine these two loves and fulfill the name of this blog: Life, Love and Lessons from the Craft Room!

The first thing I'd like to share with you today is a journal I created for taking notes during our church service. Typically, this style is called a "junk journal". It's all about adding little bits of this, that and the other to your journal, making it fun and personal and uniquely you!

So lets get to it!

This is what my notes usually look like. Now I could just file them each week, BUT my need to be "somewhat" organized overruled me and I just went on to create a journal.

I chose paper from Canvas Corp's new Bohemian Romance mixed media collection, I am just in love with it. You will see it often throughout this post. I also used stamping ink and stamps to create the words you see here. And finally I added a cute silver "button" to tie it all together.

Found these cute elastic bands to use to keep it all together

you can see with all of my additions, it is quite bulky!

I made a book mark with my intentions for this journal written on it and tied to the spiral binding. This will help me stay focused and easily keep my place.

Some ideas from my pages:
Inside cover, my church and name in case it gets lost.

I made these tags a year or so ago and decided to add them here as little flaps. They are just taped onto the edge of the page.

The heart here is actually a greeting card!

More space to write!

I found this image on the left side of the journal pages in a magazine last year and cut it out and saved it for another time, this was the time!

Why not play with some color.

Folded note card

Again, giving more space to write.

Handmade paper!

Again, just a folded sheet of the romance paper glued into place.

And this brings me to the back cover. I hope you are inspired to grab a notebook and stuff it full of meaningful images that will help you rejoice in our Lord while taking notes during your praise and worship.

The aftermath!!!

With Love in Christ,

Jennifer
